Wishing I bought a 4 door Explorer... - 2002 Ford Explorer Sport
By Mario - October 25 - 2:00 amFor my lifestyle, I should have purchased a 4 door Explorer. Its a pain in the $#@! to put my child in the back seat. Dont even try putting an adult back there. Its tough. An adult will have a real difficult time climbing into the back seat. I like the engine and trans though. The vehicle is very peppy! Wind noise can be very loud when driving on a windy day however. Lastly, I dont like the fact that my new 2002 Sport looks like a 1991 Sport. The body hasnt really changed in 10 years! The Sport needs to be redesigned or discontinued from Fords line up. It is very outdated.

first Ford in family - 2001 Ford Explorer Sport
By Laurry - July 13 - 11:36 amThis is first Ford in family, so far so good. I am usually a GM person but have had Japanese also. The price was right on this so thought I would give it a try. Like another person that gave review here. people this is a SUV not a car; the ride is more choppy and stiffer than a car . AS IT SHOULD BE.

I like It - 2002 Ford Explorer Sport
By carpeni - April 17 - 10:00 amIve had my exploror for 2 yaers now and like it a lot. Have had only 2 problems with it. A leaking rear shock after a year, which took the dealer 6 months to order and replace. And a transmission leak where the motor and transmission mate. The dealership has yet to return my calls on the transmission leak. (maybee because they saw its still under warrenty). Oh and the milege sucks around town (16mpg) but is awesome on the highway (25mpg).

So far so good. - 2001 Ford Explorer Sport
By MandaLou - February 21 - 4:03 pmI bought my Explorer about a year and half ago. I am pleased with it. Its a fun little gadget to drive, but not too roomy if you want to haul around friends. Body style is great and the handling is good as well. The fuel economy could improve, but that is with all SUVs. Good car if you are young and on the go!

hoping for the best - 2001 Ford Explorer Sport
By nappy - October 21 - 2:00 amI bought my explorer sport used about a month ago. Its beautiful, it has every option available, i love the sun roof leather, and the strong motor. ive out almost 1500 miles on it in that time cuz i cant stop driving it ill drive it just to kill time. But i am a little nervouse have noticed a few minor prob.s one it hesitates on some shifts, and jerks into others not all the time but sometimes. And once it did not want to start in the morning, but it was cold so who knows.

Great value for the price - 2003 Ford Explorer Sport
By fordguy80 - October 9 - 10:00 amThis is a very roomy SUV. I purchased the 5 speed model and am very impressed with the pick-up power it has off the line and passing power on the highway. The feul economy is not everything i would like it to be, but this also isnt a small vehicle. The design is very sporty and i get compliments on its appearance all the time. Overall im very happy with ford on this one.

Overall Pleased - 2001 Ford Explorer Sport
By 4x4Sport - September 13 - 2:00 amFor the most part, I have been very pleased with my Sport. It is very nice looking inside and out. GREAT transmission/engine combination. Acceptable fuel economy (avg. ~17mpg in combo driving). Handles great for a SUV, but rides pretty bad - mostly due to the short wheelbase I am sure. Fairly capable offroad. I have three main complaints: too many rattles, too much body flex, and terrible resale value.

My 2001 explorer sport - 2001 Ford Explorer Sport
By stan - August 19 - 10:00 amExcellent overall vehicle i purchased mine used with about 20k miles Sept 2002 and i have had it serviced regularly by the Ford dealership if you do not take care of your vehicle it will not take of you i have just went over 100k miles other than the cruise control recall (i had to go without it for two days), the battery dying about 6yrs ago, and having to recently replace the original tires, i have had no problems with it at all, my paint job needs a touch-up and two of the original three overhead handles are missing in the interior but has always been dependable i always made it to work and back even in some pretty bad storms that some 18 wheelers could not make, its a truck and a good one

Nice SUV - 2001 Ford Explorer Sport
By Greg - June 11 - 9:23 pmI bought my EXP sport used and I have really enjoyed the ride. I found the vehicle to be just the right size for me, as I am generally the only one in the vehicle.
